Commissioned to create an interactive wall mural for Fearne Cotton's inaugural Happy Place Live event, sponsored by Vita Coco and in aid of Mind Charity.
Through being discovered on Instagram, I was commissioned to create a wall mural for Fearne Cotton and her first ever Happy Place Live event! The event was in aid of Mind, the mental health charity for which Fearne is an ambassador and the sponsors were Vita Coco, the coconut water brand who are all about healthy living.
The brief; to create an interactive wall mural for guests to joyfully paint upon entrance to the event. As the first thing people would see and experience, this integral feature needed to be a show stopper that would set the tone for the rest of the day. I sketched 3 drafts for the panel of brand ambassadors to pick their favourite and Sunbeam Studios created a blank 8ftx5ft canvas and delivered it to my space. Naturally the scene I created was of a “happy place” and I went with a tropical theme given the sponsors (coconuts anyone?). The detailed patterned areas framed the piece, inviting you into a hidden oasis of relaxation - much like the event itself. I drew the piece by hand, adding watercolour highlights to get the visitors started and replicated the Happy Place logo centre stage!
It was my pleasure to also supervise this activity on the day and guests loved joining together to mindfully create one colourful masterpiece. Fearne Cotton and her family, Davina McCall, Healthy Chef Steph and Maeve Madden also left their mark. Chatting with Fearne at the event, she was very happy with the piece and it was an honour to be a part of it!
